Speaker 1 (0s): Good morning bows and bow ties. Black, Opinionated, Woman, also known as a bow here. So let's get on into the topic for today. Noah Lyles is not wrong. He's not, he's not. So if you're living under a rocky, you don't know who Noah Lyles is. Noah Lyles is the, the young man who was famous, or shall I say infamous, for making the comment that the NBA And, they win their, their, their championship.

They like to crown themselves as world champions. And Noah Lyles, who is a USA track star sprinter, said, world champions of what? World? Champions of what. And so, you know, many of the people who are in the NBA I think even some of the NFL people, they, they, they took numbers And, they took the best to it. They were like, well, what do you mean are the world champions? We have the best players.

And although arguably we have the best basketball players in the world, I would agree with Noah Lyles in that it is not a world championship. You're, you're, you put on your championship T-shirt and hat and everything like that. That's not representative or, or it's not a championship for your country, it's for the league. Let's be clear. So when Noah Lyles talks about being, you know, like a world champion or anything like that, well, he has to compete against the world.

Okay? The world has to have a certain standard to even get into the championships. I would, let me just call out his accomplishments for 2024 as far as the Olympics. He won the 100 meter gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. He also came in third for the 200 meter dash. So I think he's right. I would agree with Noah Lyles. You'll get people like Stephen A. Smith and everyone else who wants to come for him, be like, oh, well we have people from all out all around the world in our leagues.

I'm like, well, wait a second. Our women go all around the world in other leagues and compete in other leagues. Does that mean when they, whenever someone wins their league championship, that they are the world champions because these other leagues around the world have international players as well. And I think what happens is we conflate having international players on the team as being the world champion. I'm like, no, it just means you have international players on your teams.

When you are world champion, you're representing your country or something that you're representing yourself against the entire world too. The NBA is not, even though it is regarded as like having the best players or whatever like that, the way I look at it is, unless everyone around the world is all playing the same style of basketball, do you understand what I mean when I say safe style mean? Like same rules or whatever it is, and then the champion and then you, you, you somehow get moved on to the next round into this league and every, like, do you understand what I mean?

Like there's, there's different rules for the basketball health internationally, that type of thing I guess to me is, I don't understand why American athletes are struggling with this. I believe he's right. And what happens is people wanna say things like, oh, we have the best player in the world playing in the league. If Lion on Messi now, who's the best player in soccer?

Oh, Ronaldo, I don't know. I'm not a big soccer person, right? I like watching it during like maybe a little bit of Cova or the World, world Cup or Olympics. But let's be clear, I am not a soccer aficionado, although I, I like the game. I don't love the game, but I like it, it's actually a really cool game. But if we took the best player in the world and put them in the American Soccer league and then whatever team won the the, the championships, would that mean that they were the world champions because they had the best player in the world or they had some international players on their team?

And if we put an American on one of the top premier, was it premier? I forgot what the soccer leagues are called over there. And. they say they win. Does that mean that American is a world champion or is he a league champion? Right? You wouldn't be considered a world champion until you competed at the worlds. So when I consider people sitting there losing their mind over Noah Lyle's making an opinion. I mean like these people are really butt hurt over this and now they wanna come for him, right?

Like, I don't understand why this is that big of a deal. First of all, this man is 27 years old. He's young, young people say stuff all the time, but I don't understand why people are but hurt over this comment. They're not the world champions. They're not. Now, I would argue if someone said, well, the USA meant won the Olympics, I would argue you can claim that as a world championship. I mean, depends on how you slice it, right?

I would, I would, I would argue that because now you're taking all the best in the world and putting them on various teams. Teams and half of those people in the world, I shouldn't say half I, think they said there was like 60 something professionals who actually play in the NBA now playing for their country. So I would say for the Olympics, that definitely, I, I would say that would qualify as world champions. Even though it's an Olympic year, they would call it, you know, Olympic champion So.

yeah. So then you get people such as like a Gilbert Arena who's clearly a problematic person anyway. And I'm at the point now where I'm beginning to think like either he's just really slow or he's just, sorry about that. My alarm just went off. So it blanked out on my speed for a second. You know, Gilbert, this is already known for being problematic anyway and I think he does it for a shock value. I think some of it, he really believes he's already problematic.

He, he already came for no alliance. The alliance, excuse me. Ugh. He came for no alliance, you know? 'cause he was mad about the whole world. Champions of what comment. But you know, I can only take Gilbert Arenas for the greatest song. Just recently, he made fun of the south stand basketball players in the Olympics. He sent some really messed up things about them. I could understand the sentiment and saying that, how do you lose to a country that doesn't, or almost loose to a country that doesn't have like indoor basketball court or something to that effect.

Like, I can get that. But then he started just taking it to a whole other level, like small, ignorant kind of stuff. I'm like, you know, I can't do, he also is known for, so between the Noah ly cums, the South Denise basketball player commons, he, he's already problematic for his views on black women or whatever it is. Like, don't even get started on that guy. I, I look at him as somebody, like, if we had to recreate the human race, we definitely don't wanna source our DNA from him.

Okay? We definitely don't want to source our DNA from Gilbert arenas. But to see people get out here on Jesus's internet and, and go hard against Noah Wildes, I don't think he's wrong. He's not wrong. you know, people want, I feel like they're a little bit of crab in a barrel that that's the vibe he is given me and I think, when I saw a clip of Gilbert Arena Arena talking about how people were rooting for him to lose, you hate this man so bad that you're rooting for him to like, like this is an Olympics because he said that you guys are not world champions.

You want him to not win in the Olympics. I mean, you're right. People hit on this man so bad. It reminds me like they're so mad because he's young and confident. A little bit brash. It reminds me of how people treated LeBron. But he was like, I'm gonna take my my talents to Miami or something to that effect. He was a young man. People didn't like when Serena and Venus came out And, they were like, you are everything.

Right? Like, they don't, they want young people to be so humble. We all do, right? but I like, this man is 27 years old. And, they wanted him to not win gold. Your country man to one who looks like you. It's real corny to me. I think Gilbert Arenas is corny. I don't know why Stephen a likes tolerance so much. I I would say Noah Lyles is right. Just be and just because you have, sorry, I haven't had my coffee.

Just because you have not, let me rephrase that. Just because you have international people in your league does not make you a world champion. Because if that's the case for all the American women who have to play overseas 'cause they can't make money in the United States playing in these other leagues, does that make them world champions? We clearly have better players, but they can't make money at home. They have to go overseas to earn their income.

So if they win in their league, are they the world champions? Anyway? I I don't think he's wrong. I don't, don't argue with me. Argue with yourself, argue with your mom, argue with, I mean, because I just kind of feel like you can't get mad at him for saying you're not the world champion. You're not, I agree with you Noah Lyles.

Now you need to do something about how you're becoming relatable to everybody because you're definitely polarizing to some people, especially for all the little NBA players, I should say. Little, but they're, they're, they're, but hurt. They're literally, but hurt me everywhere. I'm like, you're not, you've got the guy from football wanting to challenge him in like a race, a foot race. I like, oh my gosh. Like get a life. Get a life. He's not out here trying to challenge you in some sort of football contest.

like you guys are obsessed with him. Why I'm so obsessed with me. I mean, like, it's weird, but all right, leave a comment and go ahead and subscribe if you haven't already subscribed later.
