Speaker 1 (0s): Through the woods. That's the route I'm taking to work. Okay? So, you know, I'm gonna be doing some, you know, turning some, some, some turning to the left and turning to the right. We got some curves going on today. So look, for those of you who are new to my channel, I am the Black, Opinionated Woman, also known as Ave. And so the last couple days I've been seeing shenanigans come through on my timeline. you know, I was out there watching my, my favorite videos on the dogs and the cats, you know, no lion videos.
But I alluded to this last week that, you know, started seeing, I call it the wows, the wiped out weirdos. They're showing up in my timeline again and I foolishly gave it some energy. And I, and I try to cultivate my timeline by swiping past, ignore whatever, but I gave it energy last week. And so now I'm mad at myself. But I was like, all right, let me see what I have to say. Let me just say this. Let's start off with the Shaq interview with Angel Reese.
I didn't actually see his interview, but I saw clips of the interview and I don't think I can take some of the stuff that he has said out of context. 'cause he said it. This is the thing I keep saying, we gotta stop listening to these dudes with these podcasts, right? It's, it's just giving secondhand embarrassment for someone who is supposed to be like a mentor. He's supposed to be like a mentor, like a So-called Big Brother, he wasn't giving big brother vibes.
I was having a conversation with a coworker yesterday about how I used to always have like these, so-called Big Brothers when I was younger. And they took a guy who was like, you pulled me aside. And he said, that guy is not your big brother. If he's willing to spend that much time with you, give you all this information, he still sees you in a sexual way. He's attracted to you this, that and the other. like you can have male friendships supposedly.
I actually think you do, but a lot of people say you really cannot, you know, but what he was saying was, these guys are not seeing you as like the baby sister. They see you as someone that if they could, they would. And you guys know what I mean. And what I'm saying is, you know, on the one hand, I think that Shaquille O'Neal wishes nothing but success for Angel race. I honestly believe that.
But then he ruins it and ruins it. I can't get the words out today. He's, he ruins the moment by if just go back and watch the clips or watch the entire interview. I'm Michael was the entire interview, I just haven't had any cycles, right? He says some things, I'm like, what are you saying? He's talking, he's like, sorry my allergies and I didn't take a pill today. But you know, when you're talking about how she's out and about and the body she's marrying and all these other things, I just, I feel like he, he sexualized this young lady.
Now I saw a week or two ago, you know what came across my feed? It was the Joe button guys like, I don't even know, is it called Joe Bud podcasts? I don't know. But it's like him and some of the guys that are on there and like that, that one girl Melissa, she was like the Melissa Ford girl. Like she's kind of like a pickie whatever. I don't even understand her purpose on that show as I'm not sure exactly what she brings to the show, but he, the Joe button guy was making comments about Angel Reese.
I just feel like he keeps comparing her to Kaitlyn Clark and I feel like he's talking about like he needs to go sit down somewhere. Everything he says about her is so disparaging, right? you know, I'm gonna get in this lane so I can take the windy way in. Everything he says about her is really disparaging. So he goes out of his way to Laude and applaud and Kaitlyn Clark and I feel like they can both exist out here And. they can exist uniquely.
And I listened to the way these men with podcasts get out here. They are constantly disparaging and sexualizing black women. So Joe Biden on the one hand was like, she need to go sit down. Well you, you wouldn't see Kaitlyn Clark's her team having her out there. I'm like, she's not Kaitlyn Clark. Her team and her brand is completely different. If you look at what happens in the NBA the way, no, we'll use the NFL. The way you market Kelsey is different from the way you would market Jalen Hertz, two different personalities, two different positions, two different everything.
And that's the same that goes for like Angel Reese and Caitlyn. And so by constantly pitting her against somebody, like, it's like Angel Reese first of all can't win. She can't come out and be her authentic self because then that's too much. And if she embraces the so-called negative role that people are trying to force on her, then it's like she's this bad person. Like she's just this, you guys gotta remember this woman is like 22, 23 years old if she wants to wear her booty shorts and and party and all stuff like that.
People are concerned with the way she's spending her money. I'm sure she's got advisors. I remember there was an interview, maybe it was a year or two ago when she was at LSU, she was talking about how when she had gotten like all that nail money, she wasn't really spending it. And a lot of people are making a lot of assumptions about how she spends her money. But she was saying like she had barely even touched it. She's only gotten a couple things for herself, maybe something for her mom. And she was saving her money. Now I don't know where that interview is, but this is like a year or two ago.
The thing with Angel Reese is, you know, these podcasters get out here And, they take every opportunity to either sexualize or knock down a woman who looks like me. And it is so embarrassing on their behalf. Like I feel like I have secondhand embarrassment 'cause no other community gets out and does the stuff that we are doing. They protect the image of their women.
We don't. So then in, now I listened to a clip of a completely different podcast guy. I don't know the name of it. It's, I guess it's kind of popular 'cause apparently people know these people. I've seen these people like, or clips from this particular podcast before and I cannot remember the name. And there was a group of men and women, but they were facing each other on a, on on some sort of set this time on the stage.
And they had this one guy, he, he definitely speaks to a whole bunch of red pill ideology stuff. But he was sitting up there talking about women, traditional women. Modern women. And he just looked so silly. I'm like, how can I possibly take you seriously? And you've got your hair in cornrows and and half your head is cornrow the back, excuse me, and shaved. And it's like you got your hair pulled in this little snatch back phony tale.
And it's just so weird that men are more concerned about women's femininity versus their own masculinity. He got up there, talked about how he makes I think six figures or something like that, but automatically lets me know where his values in terms of like I think. He thinks he's so-called high value because he makes six figures. I'm like, I don't know, I guess 'cause I'm so used to being around men who makes six figures. It's not like the litmus test for me.
But this guy, he was so self-promoting and some of the stuff that he was saying was, so, I don't even think he understood what he was saying. It was actually quite limited for him and his potential female mate. He has this notion of what he thinks he wants and I just don't think that he is that intelligent. And what happens is we get these men going up on these podcasts speaking with their entire chest.
It is so embarrassing. I was like, oh my goodness, manhood is lost in our community. He literally spent way too many cycles talking about women. And I'm beginning to think that men are jealous of women because it doesn't make sense. Or you wanna be one. I don't know how you could be that hyper-focused on women instead of being focused on the things that you need to do to, like you've got men out here literally wanting to tell women how to be better women.
And I'm like, but men, you're failing in every category. Now I got love for the guys, but we gotta call a thing, a thing A spade a spade. I'm like, you are more concerned about women. And I'm not saying that women don't have things they need to, you know, improve upon. But it is so weird when men are struggling in like just about every category and instead of putting that energy into cultivating these better men, these men want to tear down women.
I don't want to tear down a man, I just wanna do me, but it's just, I don't understand this weirdness. Like I'm so glad that I'm not single in these times because I'm like, I would not want to date any of these men that will espouse any of these talking points on these podcasts. It's just so embarrassing to see these men flame out And. they don't think they're flaming out, they think they're winning.
And I'm like, I guess I grew up in a different time. But men didn't do that. First of all, all these dudes are sitting there talking about women, but they wanna get their hair done by women. They wanna have all the hairstyles women. So let's just start with that. I'm like, you have a whole head of corn robes and a snatch back ponytail. You wanna talk about women and in all these categories and I'm like, you guys need to talk about fixing men. Why are so many men full despair and wanna take each other out?
And now they don't wanna go to college And. they are having employment issues and health issues and relationships, human being issues. There's so much going on. Instead of tearing down these black women, they need to start focusing hyper focus on how they want to improve the lot of the men around them and in their community. It is just really weird to me. I don't understand it.
You got men out here talking about their prize and it's such a feminine talking point. I've never, I literally don't even understand that I could not even possibly want to spend any time with a dude who wants to sit around and talk about who he is. I'm like, oh my goodness, this guy wants to be a woman. The fact that that is a talking point is so weird. So I'm listening to all these random people and they're talking, I'm like, oh my gosh, it's just weird.
It's so weird. But these podcast brothers, I'm like, I don't know what it is. They need to stop making all these silly podcasts. you know what? They need to start focusing on financial health. you know, financial health is wealth, you know, all kinds of health. They need to focus on goals, real goals, not just get your money up. What does that mean? Right? Someone who's making 30 k, if they're, they go from 30 to 70 5K, well that's like a 200 and almost it's more than 250.
That's a 150% improvement. Over 150% improvement. all right? If you're making 30 k, you go to 60 K, that's a hundred percent improvement. Yeah. So this's close to 150%. So I'm just kind of like that. Why don't they focus on these things? Why don't they focus on coming up with solutions for like how to combat, you know, financial insecurity, food insecurities. Why don't they focus on things like how do we get together and collectively start buying up land and building up communities?
Why don't they focus on creating infrastructure instead of whining when the current infrastructure is denied to them. Like Kanye West did create your own social media platforms, I. think there's one that they did start, they started com, I forgot what it was called. They didn't advertise it after I forgot the name and I meant to check it out. But like create your own social media infrastructure. Create your own banks, create your own manufacturing, you know, and stop using everybody else's and create your own.
So not only do you have a say in in where you wanna go, you wanna do where you wanna be knowing. Do you have that? You're employing people, you're creating jobs. We used to owning BET, but not anymore. We sold it off. And look, that went to trash. Everybody likes BET anymore. That's terrible. They're not really speaking to the culture And. they allow trash on there. Why don't these men start focusing on like the men who are out here in the music industry, you know, creating a new narrative and then those who can can promote that music and it would silence those who are currently promoting this bad music.
I just feel like these men with microphones are just totally flaming out to include Shaquille O'Neal. It's so embarrassing because he has such influence and power or whatever like that. But even still, and he's invested in a lot of businesses, but he has the opportunity to influence a a A A, a narrative of voice or something culture. And he's too busy. Sexualizing Angel Reese. It's just really weird.
It is weird. All these podcast guys, excuse me, I've got a frog in my throat. All these podcast guys are just embarrassing. They have no idea how they're actually flaming out. That's what they're doing. They think they're winning and they're not. They're not. So anyway, they Strike Again. You got the men sitting up there on these stupid panels talking about modern versus traditional women, the same old stuff.
And I'm like, it's just so embarrassing. He goes, should kill O'Neal. Sexualizing A current star. You've got that Joe Bud guy tearing down Angel Reese. It was like a week or two ago, tearing her down talking about what she should or shouldn't be doing. She needs to go sit down somewhere. And I'm like, no she doesn't. No, she doesn't. Her brand, her stardom is completely different from Caitlyn.
Caitlyn doesn't have much of a personality. Nice girl, great basketball player. That's not Caitlyn. That's like if someone had told Caitlyn to be out where Angel Reese is and do what she's doing, she can't carry that. Two different personalities. And now Angel is living her life on her terms. They're concerned about her money. I'm like, she's got NIO deals and stuff like that. Or endorsements. Now And, they concern about how she's spending her money because WNBA doesn't pay that much.
I would say that's their concern. I'm sure there's somebody getting in her ear and they're advising her, or they should be. But you gotta remember, this is a 22-year-old young woman. Leave her alone. Instead of encouraging her in a positive way, you've got people who are literally trying to tear this woman down. And it's mostly men who look like me. Disgusting. They're disgusting. We already know what other people are gonna do. but I, I, I'm just like blown away.
I can't figure out which lane to be in because they both suck. Oh gosh. But. anyway, that's all I've got. Go ahead and subscribe to my amazing channel.
